Open heart chakra
A person with an open heart chakra has recognized in himself the source of love and therefore lives and loves unconditionally. He follows the delicate sensations and feelings of his heart and lets them guide them. He feels the unity of all life and therefore feels unconditional, devotional love and acceptance for other living beings. His love is a gift without expectations, without need. He can empathize with the inner being of another, he feels the soul beyond the personality and the love of this connection.
A person with a fully opened heart chakra is palpable for everyone – these people radiate gently in their universal love from within. You can enjoy the little gifts and encounters of life. You have a lot of heartfelt joy and laughter. This joy of the heart is independent of an external source, it arises out of itself. People with a free heart chakra can give love as well as receive, are absolutely touchable, can give and allow real closeness. They feel the beauty and harmony in art and nature and can truly enjoy it. They live in a deep sense of gratitude and attachment to all that is.
Transcending the mental field of the solar plexus chakra eliminates the need to be right, and people with an open heart chakra recognize the relativity of all concepts and truths. They feel their own truth and their connection to the Divine so strong that they no longer have to convince anyone. They accept all ways and points of view of other people as their way to knowledge, leaving themselves and others free to grow. It is a need of the heart to be there for others, to serve the whole, from a sense of vocation, compassion and devotion.
Heart chakra and health
Physically, the thymus gland and the plexus cardiac nerve absorb the vital energy and pass it on to the following organ systems:
- Breasts, thorax and thoracic spine
- immune system
- big circuit
- Forearms and palms.
Disorders of the heart chakra
The heart chakra processes our experiences of love in all its forms. Whenever we have an experience that gives the impression that we are separate and cut off from love, or have no love to give, this can lead to traumatic heart chakra disturbances. Loss, rejection, betrayal, sadness, heartache, separation, divorce and grief are examples of experiences that can leave deep injuries and blockages of the heart chakra if they could not be processed. These things usually result from dependent love and neediness and the feeling of being cheated or unloved. But even things that we have done to other people can burden the soul so much that we believe we can not forgive and love ourselves, which breaks the connection to our hearts.
Disturbances in the development of the heart chakra are often of karmic nature, but can also arise in particular from stressful living conditions between the ages of 12 and 18, when this level of sensation fully opens for the first time. In particular, when the adolescent teenager feels rejected and misunderstood in his multiple changes and his need for relationship, an extreme emotional retreat can occur, so that temporarily all connections to the outside or at most superficial become.
Severe emotional pain can lead to blockage of the heart chakra, which manifests itself in distrust of humans and life, and of the total refusal or inability to give and receive love. Even feelings of resentment and vengeance due to experienced suffering can block the heart chakra sustainably.
The deeper layers of the heart chakra open only after intensive work with past karma. These injuries are even deeper than those from the present life, the latter are often a re-staging of already experienced situations.
Mental effects of a blocked heart chakra
A disturbance of the heart chakra in my perception usually causes the overemphasis of one of the two poles of relationship: either in the form of narcissistic self-referentiality and a refusal to the world or as a self-sacrificing, self-hatred and self-hatred dependence on other people’s love. In both forms there is the fundamental illusion of being cut off from love, which is expected from an outside source and the feeling of having nothing to give.
In the first case, the disturbance of the heart chakra in my experience leads to hardening, indifference, emotional detachment, the inability to forgive, often persistent negativity, as well as difficulties or refusal to allow real closeness in relationships and to give or receive love. Emotional coldness, hardness, closed-mindedness, indictment, condemnation, resentment and mistrust of oneself, other people and life / God are also common effects. This separation of other people as well as of life, of one’s soul and of the divine can cause an existential loneliness which these people often try to conceal from themselves as independence. Behind it is often a deep injury or the fear of attachment and dependence.
People who tend to abandon themselves believe they have to earn the love of other people and God constantly and yet secretly believe that they do not deserve this love. These people serve, but not from the fullness of their love, but they serve to get love. They are totally dependent on the world, which appears to them as the only access to love. It is not possible for them to be alone or to feel love in themselves.
Physical effects of a blocked heart chakra
On the physical level, in my experience, a blockade of the heart chakra in the following problems can show: Impaired shoulders, heart disease and angina pectoris, cardiac arrhythmia, high or low blood pressure, high cholesterol, circulatory disorders, lung disease, asthma, respiratory problems, allergies, pain in the thoracic spine and shoulders, rheumatism in arms and hands and skin diseases. Also, respiratory diseases such as bronchitis, asthma, emphysema and others are possible.
Open heart chakra
Above all, the healing of a blocked heart chakra requires a willingness to feel and feel again unconditionally, to immerse oneself deeply in the experience – in the pleasant, as well as the unpleasant, and in this sense of achieving an acceptance beyond all valuations, into pure loving feeling from what is. Opening the heart chakra also means approaching one’s own vulnerability sincerely, becoming aware of the deep yearning for unconditional love – and discovering that love within oneself.
The ultimate healing of the heart chakra lies in the recognition of the true nature of love: that it is the true ground of our own being, eternal, omnipresent, inexhaustible and uninterrupted. That love is not something we get, but something that reveals itself in us and through us.
It is also necessary to recognize the true meaning of self-centeredness and self-abandonment: the truth in self-centeredness is that we can only realize love within ourselves. The truth of self-abandonment is that love flows when we are empty enough to be filled with love. We only receive to give. Only when we, as a person, step aside with our needs and truly let love shine without purpose does their highest potential come true. In the injured state these truths are distorted to the absurd.
Often, many blockages and protective mechanisms are first to be cured. Unresolved experiences of loss, existential grief and pain want to be felt and redeemed. These blockages can only really be resolved if one is truly ready to let go of the drama of life, to deeply forgive oneself, one’s life and all people, and to truly embark on love altogether.
Working with the inner child and teenagers can be useful if these times were accompanied by painful feelings, also co-dependencies in relationships and the underlying reasons can be a topic of heart work. Different forgiveness techniques are also often useful.
Another important aspect is to develop a deep presence with feeling – a deep and fully conscious feeling of the moment with all senses. To become aware of ever finer nuances of one’s own feelings (beyond the gross emotions) and to be able, even in difficult and painful processes, to keep open this loving and fearless space of feeling, has a great influence on the heart chakra.
The karmic layers of the heart chakra reveal themselves as soon as the causal body is fully activated, which in my experience can lead to spontaneous returns to past lives, which often bring painful memories but also a great liberation. Repatriation work and help from clairvoyant persons can help to uncover the deeper causes of blockages.
Breathwork and sensual-creative work with the hands unfold through the close energetic connection a positive effect on the heart chakra, just like honest and loving hugs and touches.
But not only hidden pain, but also the original sensitivity, joy and gratitude of the heart and the deep trust in life and love want to be rediscovered. To perceive nature and the everyday wonderful little things and to enjoy the little things in life, can start a small cleaning process here. The support of energy work, stones, flavors, and a certain diet is also part of the healing work.
